This Sunday we have the joy of hearing “Stories of the People.” These are testimonies of God’s faithfulness. Pastor Jim Renke will be leading us through Galatians 6:7-10. We will discover what it means to share goodness with those around us.

Ladies, SIGN UP with Karen Kissinger, Carol Marshall or Shannon Renke for our SATURDAY GATHERING, Sep 9th 9-11am. We will cast our vision for Courageous Living and especially look at Bold Giving; Extraordinary, Extravagant Giving by being the hands and feet of Jesus to others. Our special guest, Jana Patterson, missionary to The Slovak Republic, will share her story. ***We have an opportunity to GIVE Boldly by donating for the month of September to TEDS Clothes Horse, grocery items such as: pasta, rice, nuts, grains, oats, quinoa, oil, lentils, peanut butter, almond butter, salsa, sauces, ketchup, cereal, wheat flour etc. Look for donation baskets in the Great Room and by the Welcome Desk starting TODAY
Women of VCL and friends: Our Thursday Bible Study will begin on September 21. We’re excited to learn and grow together as well as share fellowship and prayer. Please plan to join us from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. And there is good news! We will be providing child care at the church for anyone needing it so please spread the word. The book for our Psalms study is Open and Unafraid: The Psalms as a Guide to Life by David O. Taylor. These are available for $12; just look for our sign up table in the Welcome Center. Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night (9/5) at 7:00 pm, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our prayer meeting. Come join us for a meaningful time of prayer—all from the comfort of your own living room. Zoom details to follow via email. Missionary of the week: Please pray for Informed Choices this week.
Youth Group: We will be taking a break until the week of September 17th in order for the leaders to reorganize and prepare for the upcoming year. The date youth group begins will be announced as we get closer.
Two church work days: We will be doing some new fall plantings in our landscape around VCL. If you love to garden or just like getting dirty, we have a need for your help! Saturday September 16 and Saturday September 23 at 9 am. Sign up in the foyer—thank you!
All-Church Business Meeting - Sunday, September 10th following Worship. 2 items of business will be presented.
1) A ministry description for the new staff position.
2) A proposed by-law change: Changing the possible dates of our annual meeting, from November 1 thru December 31, to “the congregation requiring the annual meeting to be held between December 1 and January 31.”
This frees up the Christmas season and assures we’ll have final numbers before deciding on next year’s budget.
