Guide for Home Worship: 9/18/22
Seasons of Orientation
This morning, we worship the grace of God in giving us times of rest and hope. Let’s worship the Lord who is faithful through song, prayer and the Word. Pastor Jim Renke will lead us through Psalm 67 and we’ll thank God for new starts and new realizations of the journey ahead.
Trunk or Treat: we need YOU! Starting this Sunday, we have sign ups in the foyer to help with our first annual Trunk or Treat on October 29th from 1-4pm. If you don’t know, Trunk or Treat is an event when cars line up in the parking lot, decorate their trunks, and offer treats/candy to children who walk from car to car. We are working hard to promote this to the community, and need a variety of help. In the foyer you will see the sign-up sheet with multiple categories of help needed. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Casey.
Welcome Center: We hope you’ve noticed, we frequently have treats to go with our coffee at the welcome center on Sundays. You are invited to contribute at a time that works for you (and we have openings on our schedule.) Some ideas are: a purchased sheet cake (possibly celebrating a special birthday?) homemade cookies or bars, a bowl of cuties or apples or a salty snack. You may have another idea, I’d love to hear it! To schedule a Sunday and find out more info, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Nominating Committee invites suggestions from the congregation for positions on the Finance Committee and for Elders. The Financial Secretary and Treasurer are one year terms. Candidates for all elected positions must be active members of Village Church of Lincolnshire. Contact Nels Flatebo, (email@example.com, 847.414.9730) Chair of the Nominating Committee with your suggestions.
