Guide for Home Worship: 7/18/21
The Path and the Promise
The path between promise and fulfillment is rarely straightforward. When the world threatens to knock us off course, how will we respond in faith? In this service, we’re praising the God who is faithful to keep His promises and praying that He would sustain us as we await their fulfillment. Pastor Kenny will preach a sermon from Acts 25:1-12 titled, “Principles for the Path.”
Hour in the Word – Jim Stamoolis and Pastor Casey will be leading a series entitled The Basics of Faith in Christ: What Christians believe. If you’ve ever wondered what heaven is like, or why Christians say Jesus is the only way to God, this is the series for you. And, even if you’ve been a believer for a long time, you may be surprised to discover what the Bible says about God, the world, and Christian’s eternal destiny. Join us every Sunday morning 9-10 a.m. in the Great Room. Due to technical issues, we will be recording the lesson and then posting it to YouTube the next week instead of livestreaming.
Bi-Weekly Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night (7/20) at 7:30 PM, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our bi-weekly prayer meeting. Come join us for a meaningful time of prayer—all from the comfort of your own living room. Zoom details to follow via email. If you have a prayer request or an update, please send it to email@example.com.
All Church Luncheon–Our missionaries, Todd and Jana Patterson will be at VCL on Sunday, August 1st. There will be a light lunch served in the great room immediately after the service. Todd and Jana will be providing a short program. If you are able to attend please contact the church office (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Nothing But the Blood… The Red Cross has approached our church about the possibility of hosting a blood drive for the community. The elders think this is a wonderful way to move toward becoming “the most beautiful home in our neighborhood,” but we need to gauge your interest before we can set a date. If you’d be interested in donating blood and/or volunteering to help out, please contact the church office. The drive will take place on a weekday, so please take that into consideration before signing up.
VCL Reopening Guide – Information regarding the reopening of our church may be found on our blog posting. Click here to read the guide.
Prayer… If you would like people from our church to pray for you at any time, please send your request directly to email@example.com. Once approved by one of our pastors, your request will go straight out to our prayer list.
Offering Envelopes: We would encourage you to use last year’s offering envelopes (date not important) if you still have them. If you do not and would like envelopes with your envelop number please contact the church office with the number of envelopes you would need (example: one time a month, every other week, etc.). The Finance Committee appreciates when you use your numbered envelopes as this makes their job more efficient.
If you’re not receiving our emails – please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our email list. We would be happy for you to receive the information that is forwarded each week. Also any who would like to be added to the “prayer request list” may also contact the church office.
Would you like to use the Great Room? The Great Room is now available for groups of 25 or less to use throughout the week. To keep things safe and sanitary, you’ll need to reserve a time and follow a set of guidelines we’ve developed. For more information, please email email@example.com.
Weekly Office: Pastors Kenny and Casey are on Facebook Live at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. During this time they will read a scripture passage and have a time of prayer. Copies of these times of worship will then be posted on our website: evcl.org/daily-office
