Our smaller size (average Sunday attendance
is 175) and friendly congregation gives people a feeling of coming home.
Our congregation not only spans all ages, but also a variety of ethnic
backgrounds. That diversity is one of our favorite parts of our church
life. But above everything else, our goal at VCL is to be and to make
disciples of Jesus Christ. We asked three newcomers what they had to say
about VCL. We invite you to come and see for yourself.
"When
people ask us how we came to VCL we respond by saying that we initially
came to hear a friend from Europe speak. But when asked, why have you
stayed? We quickly respond by saying We feel like we have Come
Home! We have been very impressed by the warmth, friendliness
and creativity of this genuine Christian community and family.
We
have often said that we think that the Village Church of Lincolnshire has
got to be the best kept secret in Lake County. There were basically three
things that we were looking for in a church―a sense of God’s presence in
the worship, a strong teaching ministry from God’s Word and authentic
Christian fellowship and caring. We have found a wonderful blend of all
three at VCL.
We
often refer to VCL as our little chapel in the woods and we are very
thankful to have finally found a Christian community that we can truly
call home."

"I
settled at VCL because, from the neighborly handshakes and smiles at the
door, to the friendliness of everyone I've met, to the loving
professionalism and knowledge Pastor Lee brings to his sermons, I have felt
welcomed, at home and closer than ever to God."
