Kathy Richards Bhatia
Serving with She is Safe
Kathy works full time as the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at She Is Safe, a Christian non-profit development organization which works to prevent, rescue and restore abused and exploited women and girls in high-risk places around the world, equipping them to build lives of freedom, faith and a strong future. She is considered a non-resident missionary, so can continue to live in Lake County and attend VCL. Kathy has been a member of VCL since 2012, and was an intern here under Pastor Lee during the completion of her MDiv from TEDS. Her role with She Is Safe requires regular travel to the MENA region and on-going development work with regional partners.
What most excites you about your new position with SIS?
The most exciting part about my new position with She Is Safe is the chance to work closely with some of the Middle East’s most faithful and courageous Christians on behalf of abused and exploited women and girls. The Lord is doing incredible miracles in the lives of the broken, bringing so many to himself through visions, dreams, and the beautiful witness of those who serve the lost with sweet tenderness and bold action.
What does it mean to you that you are being “sent out” by the Village Church of Lincolnshire?
VCL has been a home for me as I finished up seminary and moved into full time ministry. This church has prayed for and with me and encouraged me to persevere when things got tough. I am so proud to be a member of VCL! To have such solid support, both financial and prayer, from my own church family is actually priceless. Thank you, dear friends, for loving me and encouraging me in the gospel of Christ. May the Lord of hosts bless you all.
