Guide for Home Worship: 6/28/20
Keep Your Focus
God has called out of darkness and into His marvelous light so that we can go and tell the world how great He is. In today’s sermon, we’ll talk about how to stay focused on what He’s called us to do—especially when we’re distracted.
Virtual Bible Study: The Book of Amos: For the next eight weeks we are going to be studying the book of Amos, and pray that by this study we may gain a new lens into the Lord’s concern for justice, an appreciation for the complex problems that Israel failed to address, and God’s will for us in the midst of our own, equally complex problems. This study is entitled “Let Justice Roll Down,” and will be live streamed every Sunday on our YouTube page from 9-10 am (Click here to get to the third lesson). As we seek the Lord’s wisdom in these issues of justice, I pray you’ll join us.
Save the Date for Upcoming Services: We will be holding an outdoor evening service at the church on this Sunday, June 28th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. The night will include readings, prayers, a short message, and congregational singing—all at a safe distance, of course. We are planning to meet for worship in the church on our anticipated regathering date of July 5.
Bi-Weekly Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night at 7:30 PM, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our bi-weekly prayer meeting. Come join us for a meaningful time of prayer—all from the comfort of your own living room. Zoom details to follow via email. If you have a prayer request or an update, please send it to email@example.com.
Not-So Daily Office: Pastors Kenny and Casey are on Facebook Live at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. During this time they will read a scripture passage and have a time of prayer. Copies of these times of worship will then be posted on our website: evcl.org/daily-office
Offering: During this time, it’s more important than ever that we continue to embody our trust in the Lord’s provision through faithful, sacrificial giving. Please visit http://evcl.org/give/ and make your offering as an intentional act of faith. Although online giving is preferred during this time, you may also write and mail your checks to Village Church of Lincolnshire, 201 Riverwoods Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045
