Guide for Home Worship: 1/10/21
When Unity Divides
Join us as we pick up our series in Acts. Pastor Kenny will be preaching a sermon from Acts 15:36-16:5 about how Christians can disagree well as they pursue their common goal of spreading the Good News to the end of the earth.
Thank you! On behalf of the entire staff, I (Kenny) would like to thank everyone who so generously contributed to this year’s staff Christmas gift. Especially in a year when we’ve felt so disconnected from the people of our church, it means more than I can say to receive this expression of your appreciation. May the Lord bless you all as we mark the beginning of this New Year, and may He continue to bless us all so richly—even on the heels of a year that, for so many, has felt very much like a curse. -Pastor Kenny
Hour in the Word This Sunday: Why You Need the Spiritual Disciplines Have you ever wondered what difference God’s presence actually makes in your daily life? Or why it doesn’t seem like you are ever actually growing in Christlikeness? Join Pastor Casey for the next eight weeks at 9:30 in the Great Room and online as he explores the basics of spiritual life and formation, and invites you to see yourself as a worshipper and all of your life as worship. You can find the link for the livestream and guide for lesson one at http://evcl.org/the-basics-of-life-in-christ-week-one/ .
Bi-Weekly Virtual Prayer Gathering: This Tuesday night (1/12) at 7:30 PM, we’ll be gathering on Zoom for our bi-weekly prayer meeting. Thursday Women: Our First Lesson! Our Thursday group will begin our first lesson on January 14. At that time we will begin our video/book series entitled Breathe by Priscilla Shirer. There are still books available and you may purchase a book for $12 (exact change or check made payable to Village Church of Lincolnshire). We will begin our time together at 9:30 a.m. And, as always, we will continue to observe Covid guidelines.
Would you like to use the Great Room? The Great Room is now available for groups of 25 or less to use throughout the week. To keep things safe and sanitary, you’ll need to reserve a time and follow a set of guidelines we’ve developed. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Not-So Daily Office: Pastors Kenny and Casey are on Facebook Live at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. During this time they will read a scripture passage and have a time of prayer. Copies of these times of worship will then be posted on our website: evcl.org/daily-office
