We usually have three TEDS student serve us during any given calendar year, one each in the fall and spring semesters, and one over the summer. But what do they actually do? I asked Brandon Boulais to list what he has done this summer so that you might appreciate both VCL’s ministry to the M.Div. students and how we benefit as a church.
This summer Brandon has been teaching regularly for the Senior High group on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening as well as leading in youth group and helping with Dude’s Nights. He has organized the summer youth retreat.
Brandon has also taught in the Morning with Michael class and taken part in the worship service. Our interns assist the Elder Board secretary, Jim Stamoolis, by taking minutes at the congregational meeting and the Elder’s meeting. Jim has particularly appreciated Brandon’s assistance.
Being an intern means being involved with one of our pastors in all our visitation and contact with outside organizations, so Brandon has accompanied me on pastoral calls as well as connecting with PADS. He has taken part in our regular staff prayer meet-ings and generally made himself useful in the office. That includes helping lay gravel around our building….!
December 2012 is his anticipated graduation date, but first he and Ashley will become parents in early August as they await the arrival of their son.
I want to say a big thank you, Brandon, for a great summer of faithful service and hard work. I could not have handled all the responsibilities of leadership at Village Church without you. We are so proud of the pastor God is molding you to be.
