Many of you know that VCL has been leading a worship service for seniors at Sedgebrook’s Independent Living Community in Lincolnshire for some time now. Recently, God has graciously opened a new door, and a big door, for an expanded ministry to Senior Adults. Last summer, we called area Senior Adult Living communities, asking how we could bless them. Two facilities responded begging for a Protestant service. One even said,
“We need a Jesus talk. Can you do that?”
In response, VCL is now leading worship services for three Senior Adult Communities – The Wealshire Nursing Home and Sedgebrook Independent Living Community in Lincolnshire, and Brentwood Nursing Home in Deerfield. We are preparing a new worship service at Sedgebrook’s Assisted Living Center. Both Sedgebrook’s Assisted Living and Brentwood North have also asked that we develop a visitation ministry to go hand in hand with our evangelical services. This is an opportunity for all ages. Participating in the worship service is just one way to be involved. Other ways include: music, conversation, bringing your children or animals along to visit. We ask that you consider being part of this ministry. These are exciting times for our church. Praise God for the new opportunity.
